Each call is made and tuned by long time duck hunter David Gaston, who puts a duck in every one. These are the calls you don't want to be without.

Acrylic Calls
Since its inception, acrylic has fast become the most popular choice of material for callmakers today. Unlike wooden calls, acrylic is a non-porous material making it virtually impenetrable to moisture and other weathering elements while enabling it produce an unprecedented range of sound qualities. Acrylic calls have become the standard by which all duck calls are measured. Gaston Acrylics are available in our popular Field model as well as a limited number of color schemes in our newly redesigned Timber model for close in work. Each Gaston acrylic call is tuned just right to produce that extra special ducky sound that will have the ducks landing in your decoys.

Wood Calls
The secret of producing a good wooden call is starting with quality woods. During the early stages of callmaking, callmakers were only limited to their native wood. As the years went by and the wood procuring process become available, callmakers began searching for wood which had vast density, dependability and durability for the harsh and adverse conditions of duckhunting. Two of the most consistent woods found containing these characteristics were Bois d' arc, and Cocabola. Each Gaston wooden call is finished with three coats of sealant which will protect the call and its beauty for years to come. They are available in Field and Timber models. Some duck hunters prefer wood calls for their tonal qualities and traditional appeal. To many, a wooden duck call is next to a shotgun in each hunters list of heirlooms.

Straight Barrel Calls
Last year, Gaston Custom Calls introduced its acrylic Straight Barrel duck call. The Straight Barrel is modeled after the original Gaston Custom acrylic except we slimmed down the barrel design and developed a new insert to create more volume for large open areas of water or those windy days afield, while keeping the low end duck. The straight barrel call has been readily accepted and now we are proud to offer this amazing call in some new colors for 2003. All Straight Barrel calls have stainless steel bands and are now available in the following colors, Black, Mallard Green, Midnight Ice, and Mallard Ice.
